Security Fence custom sunroom job - O'ConnorWhen Gail and John O'Connor decided to enhance their existing condo with a sunroom to expand their home's space and function, they reached out to Security Fence to do the job.

Sunroom by Security Fence - interior shot - O'ConnorsThe attractive and functional 4-season sunroom that they chose was created by our Security Fence designers and installers. The O'Connors were able to choose multiple aspects of the final design, and they elected to upgrade the project to include a stunning Versetta concrete stone wall.

Custom sunroom job for O'Connor by Security Fence, York, PAThis custom-built room was designed to hide the existing gas and air conditioning units yet allow for easy access. The remaining walls and trim are made of PVC, and the roof is an aluminum material which can be shingled.  The gabled roof maximizes backyard viewing through the use of multiple sizes and shapes of windows and allowed for the addition of a ceiling fan.

In fact, read below what the O'Connors had to say about their finished project.

We are recent customers of Security Fence Company.  We selected them to install our Sun Room, and we are glad we did.  The whole procedure was explained before the work began.  The installers arrived to our home on time each day and immediately began working.  They worked as quietly as possible and left our property neat at the end of each day.  The job was completed on time and within budget.  The workmanship is excellent.  We love our Sun Room!  -- John & Gail O'Connor

What a way to create useful outdoor living space for minimal cost!

This particular job required Security Fence Company to remove existing walls on a poorly built 8’ x 20’ addition.

After installing new Security Fence Co PVC structural support posts, adding a high quality auto-closing screen door and installing AZEK maintenance-free trim, our customer now has a beautiful and useful screened-in porch adjacent to their Security Fence Co deck.

The renovation allows them to relax, dine and entertain outdoors, free from the nuisance of bugs and direct sunlight.

In our customer's words...

Thanks so much for your design and construction of our screened-in porch. Your crew at Security Fence was top notch and your recommendation to add recessed lights and a ceiling fan let us use our porch well into the night – bug free! Great job!

sunroomsYou might hear the Sunroom called by another name such as conservatory, solarium, Florida room or something else. No matter the name, the sunroom is a glassed-in living space typically attached to the house and accessible from indoors. It is designed to function as additional living area to let you enjoy lots of sunlight and fresh air. Moreover, Remodeling Magazine reports that "the resale value of a sunroom averages 89% - 115% of original cost" making it an excellent investment for most homeowners,

The most important decision you’ll have to make when planning a sunroom is its location with respect to your home, and also considering the climate in which you live.

If your home is in the southern climate where temperatures are higher, an eastern exposure will help keep the room cooler since it will get more direct sun in the morning and shade the rest of the day. In northern climates, however, if you expect to use the sunroom often in the afternoon or early evening into the spring and fall, an eastern exposure might cause the room might to be chilly.

In the cooler temperatures of northern climates, a southern exposure is typically sought because it will receive the most sunlight each day. Whereas, in the heat of the southern climates, the sunroom with southern exposure might require air conditioning to create a comfortable living space.

Whether in the South or North, a sunroom with western orientation will typically be exposed to harsh afternoon sunlight that will need to be shaded.

In the North, a sunroom facing north will offer partial shade most of the day which can cause the room to be too cool and damp. However, in the warmer southern climates, a sunroom with a northern exposure would likely eliminate the need for shading or air conditioning.

Here at Security Fence Company in Red Lion, PA, our experienced representatives can help you explore your options – from location, elevation, materials used and more – to arrive at the perfect sunroom solution for your home and lifestyle.
